Job overview

Exeter School requires a General Maintenance Hand to include Swimming Pool Maintenance and Lifeguarding Duties to join our Maintenance team as soon as possible.  Owing to the nature of the work, the post holder must remain physically fit, be able to swim and to undertake general lifting and other physically demanding tasks.  A mininum of City & Guild NVQ Level 2 Plumbing and Heating qualification (or equivalent in proven experience) is desired.  Other desirable qualifications include Pool Plant Operator and NPLQ Lifesaving - full additional training will be given, if required, to the successful applicant.

Duties include providing evening and weekend cover for School functions where and when required as well as providing site security in or out of School hours.  The post holder is required to work as an individual as well as part of a team member of the Maintenance Department and assist in the running of the School.  

Normal hours of work are 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday inclusive, with two breaks of fifteen minutes and with an hour for lunch.  Lunch is provided free of charge during term time only.  Some overtime working will be required, usually during the week, but occasionally at weekends, on a rota system.

The post holder will be eligible to join the School's group personal pension after three months in post.
