About Nord Anglia School Beijing, Fang Shan (NAS Beijing)

Nord Anglia School Beijing, Fang Shan (NAS Beijing), offers students a creative, challenging and rewarding learning experience.

Opening in September 2019, NAS Beijing bilingual school will provide a state of the art, world-class teaching and learning environment with total student capacity of 1728. Providing a unique blended learning experience, NAS Beijing will offer students the best of eastern and western education resources and philosophies for students aged 6-18. The bilingual programme will be based on the Chinese K-12 curriculum blended with globally respected international teaching pedagogy and education resources. Located in the Fang Shan District of Beijing, the school has world class facilities that complement our innovative approach.

About the role

You will be an effective professional who will deliver the vision and ethos of the school which is centered on learning in a multilingual environment through a blended curriculum, offering students an international mindset whilst still nurturing pride and respect for their own culture and traditions. This teacher will be passionate about teaching Maths and growing students into confident and numerate young people.

We will look to you to promote high expectations for our students, designing learning activities that are aligned to our school’s curriculum and creating a learning culture where students are confident to be socially, academically and personally ambitious.  You will foster an environment of respect within the classroom, facilitating learning through questioning and discussion.

As a qualified teacher, you will have excellent Mathematical Learning skills and the drive to empower a strong numeracy focused environment across curriculum areas.  It will be an advantage if you are familiar with a wide range of curriculums including the IMYC and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).  Knowledge of varied examination pathways for Mathematics and a broader knowledge of the IBDP as a whole would be desirable but not essential. Experience of teaching students within a multilingual environment will be an advantage but not a prerequisite, a desire to teach in a multilingual environment is a must.

Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students.

You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions of living and working in China.

Selection Process

The closing date for application is Friday 14 December. First stage interviews will be conducted by Skype or telephone and final interviews will take place at the Nord Anglia Education Recruitment Event in central London in the week commencing 21st January 2019 (alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who cannot attend in person).
