We are recruiting on behalf of one of Australia’s most reputable all-boys Independent schools, whose main campus lies in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. This independent school prides itself on offering a dynamic learning environment, which fosters the strength and excellence of its students, resulting in consistently outstanding academic achievements. Each year a group of Year 9 boys attend a six-month residential experience in Kangaroo Valley in New South Wales. The program is designed to be conductive to the boys’ social, physical and mental development. Students will complete a rigorous academic program, integrated with field studies and challenging outdoor education. The school is seeking a qualified Mathematics teacher to accompany the students and a small group of staff.

 About the Role:

• Teaching Year 9 Mathematics alongside students’ outdoor activities

• Full-time position teaching on any 5 days from Monday - Sunday  

• Will be required to work some weekends

• Temporary contract for Term 3, with the potential to be extended till Term 4 for the right candidate

• Class sizes are 22-24 students

• Accommodation will be provided on site or close by in Kangaroo Valley

• Boarding and extra-curricular duties will apply

• Private accommodation and food all included

• Opportunity to take part in outdoor activities


Selection Criteria:

• Be a qualified Secondary Mathematics teacher

• Previous Boarding/Residential experience is desirable, along with an active interest in outdoor education activities and experiential learning

• Be registered, or have the ability to be registered with NESA & WWCC

• Possess current references

• Be able to be flexible in committing to a 3- or 6-month contract

• Be happy to work some weekends and outside of regular school hours to assist with duties
