TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS  (CPS)  

Required for a September 2018 start, an experienced and enthusiastic teacher of Mathematics to join a successful and well-resourced curriculum area.    

Applications are welcomed from trainees, newly qualified teachers and experienced teachers.  The successful candidate will be required to teach both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.  Courses offered are AQA GCSE, AQA ‘A’ Level and Further Mathematics.

Jack Hunt School is a vibrant, multi-cultural, mixed 11-19 comprehensive school which has achieved much over the years.

We hold Specialist Language and Sports Specialist College status; Training Schools status and are part of the Leading Edge Programme.

We also hold the Investor in People Gold Standard, the Leading Parent Partnership Award and the British Council International School Award. In addition we are a founder member of Peterborough Keys Academies Trust, (PKAT); five Peterborough schools working together for pupil achievement, well being and striving to provide the best experience for our pupils.

Jack Hunt School History and Ethos

Jack Hunt School became a Beacon school in September 1999 for an initial period of 3 years. Following a successful application to the Department for Education and Skills, Beacon status was granted for a further three years with effect from September 2002. In 2004, Beacon schools came to an end nationally and Jack Hunt School successfully applied to become a Leading Edge School. Jack Hunt became a founding member of PKAT in 2018.

Jack Hunt School exists to provide high quality learning and teaching in a supportive and caring environment to develop the potential of each learner.

Facilities

Brand new £7m Dining Hall and English Block with a new full size all weather sports pitch, opened in September 2019. Fully equipped Science labs, ICT suites, Sports facilities, Superb Art, Design and Technology and Music classrooms.

Our Learning Support Department is well equipped with facilities such as a purpose-build Physiotherapy room, Sensory room, adjustable kitchen facilities, Wheelchair-accessible garden and greenhouse to name a few.

Jack Hunt Pool is an 82 feet (25 m) dual-use facility, built on the premises but open to the general public. Jack Hunt is also home to multiple extended school opportunities and classes, from Latvian and Chinese School and Church, to multiple sports classes such as Badminton, Tae Kwon-Do, Basketball, Rowing and Netball. The school is also the base of West Peterborough Dance School.
