We are looking to appoint a dynamic, child centred teacher for the above position.  The successful candidate will be, or if NQT have the ability to become, an inspirational classroom practitioner. The maths department is a large and successful team of staff that consistently support students to achieve excellent outcomes. In addition to quality first teaching and learning, supernumerary specialist staff help to personalise each student’s experience of maths through targeted and focussed intervention.

All full time maths teachers have their own classroom, appropriately equipped with laptop, projector and visualiser and there is a comprehensive induction programme in place to support new staff. Frederick Gough School is an over-subscribed community school which aims to ensure all of its learners leave as happy, well-rounded, qualified individuals ready to succeed in the next chapter of their lives.

Frederick Gough School in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, is a secondary community school for children aged 11-16. member of the North Lincolnshire Education Consortium. The pupil roll at around 1,165 is slightly small than the average secondary school. Most students are of white heritage.

When the school opened in 1960 it was called Ashby and then Bottesford Grammar School, then being renamed Frederick Gough Grammar School after the first Chair of governors, Alderman Frederick Gough.  It became a comprehensive school in 1969, linking with Ashby Girls' Secondary School.

The variety of languages taught at the school - Spanish, French, German and Russian – is one of its distinguishing features.

In 2014 Frederick Gough was part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme and gained several new or improved features, including a 3G Sports Pitch, sports block and hall and English block.
