The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) is a Welsh Government Sponsored Body responsible for the regulation of the higher education sector in Wales. It also administers funds made available by the Welsh Government to support higher education, research and associated activities at higher education providers in Wales, which currently includes 8 universities in Wales, the Open University in Wales, and a number of further education colleges offering prescribed higher education courses.
