Warminster School is looking for a Music Assistant for the 2018—2019 academic year (Sept 2018 – July 2019) to work with both the Senior and Prep years. The position is salaried (£8000) and includes accommodation for the whole year (including holidays) and meals throughout term-time.
The role is flexible and can be tailored to the strengths and experience of the successful applicant. Duties will include administration work, assisting in classroom lessons, assisting the Director of Music in planning concerts, rehearsal and performance work, working with individual pupils who need additional support and also boarding duties. There are also opportunities to work with Music Technology in a number of guises. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, highly organised and will enjoy working with young musicians of all abilities. The ability to play the piano and another instrument to a high standard would be an obvious advantage, but is not essential and should not preclude non-pianists from applying.
This position would suit a university student on a placement year or a recent Music graduate interested in gaining experience in the thriving music department of a leading independent boarding school. Previous Assistants have gone on to work at prestigious London musical establishments, including conservatoires and West End theatres, as well as in television production and the teaching profession.
If you would like to apply for this exciting position, please contact Miss Ellen Bryden, Music Assistant (firstname.lastname@example.org) for an application pack. The closing date for applications is Friday 23rd March. Interviews are likely to be held on the week of Monday 16th April. Email applications are encouraged.
