Job overview

An exciting opportunity to join a thriving school!

We are currently at full capacity and have an ever growing waiting list- a wonderful position for us to be in which provides for staff and pupils and very exciting place to be a part of.

We are a Dyslexia Specialist school and follow the national curriculum wherever possible. The ideal applicant will have experience of working with Dyslexic pupils and how to modify lesson resources in order to meet your pupils needs. We expect our teachers to be kind, caring and understanding of the struggles that our pupils may have. We are absolutely aspirational for our pupils and want them to be the very best version of themselves, however encouraging them to push themselves has to be carried out with sensitivity and gentle motivation.

We are looking to recruit a Music Specialist to teach our KS2 and KS3 pupils. This is an exciting new role for September and will be yours to create and develop. We would like the candidate to support our creative subjects at the school and be actively involved in supporting our school productions.

Our class sizes are small, no more than 12 in a lesson which provides an excellent learning environment for our learners.

If you became a teacher because you wanted to make a difference and wanted to have a positive impact on a Childs life, then this is the school for you. At Moon Hall our pupils thrive because of the support our staff bring.

Applications will be considered upon receipt and we encourage those interested to submit an application at your earliest convenience.

Any questions and completed applications to the Heads PA Mrs Tina Howland howlandt@moonhall.co.uk

Interviews will take place over the coming weeks

Moon Hall School Reigate is a Mainstream Dyslexia Specialist school. We begin at year 3 and our oldest pupils leave in year 11.

We give our pupils the opportunity to access the mainstream curriculum and to close the gap between current attainment and what they should be achieving. Through appropriate curricular provision we respect the fact that pupils require different strategies for learning, acquire, assimilate and communicate information at different rates and need a range of teaching approaches and experiences.

Our aim is for all pupils to be independent learners.

Headteacher

Michelle Catterson BSc, PGCE, SpLD Level 3

BDA Board Trustee and APPG member for Dyslexia

Mission and Aim

We aim to help and support every pupil to achieve their full academic and co-curricular potential, teaching to each individual’s ability. Although literacy and numeracy are the main priorities on the curriculum, Moon Hall School also wants the pupil to have personal development to succeed as adults in the 'real world'. The school values aspiration, courage, resilience and ambition.

ISI report

“The quality of the pupils’ overall achievement and learning, including the EYFS, is excellent. The pupils are well educated in line with the school’s aims to give them the confidence and skills to access the curriculum. Pupils are successful in team and individual activities. These include winning art prizes in a local festival and recognition in a national poetry competition. Pupils play hockey at county level. All pupils overcome their difficulties, and their varied starting points, these results demonstrate that the pupils achieve extremely well at GCSE. The pupils’ attitude to their work and learning is usually extremely positive.”
