OBJECTIVES 

Huili School Hangzhou is seeking an excellent Music Teacher work as part of a music team to deliver outstanding teaching and opportunities to our students. The teacher should be an excellent musician with a strong track record of student progress, understanding the needs of all pupils. The teacher should embody the Wellington College philosophy and ethos by encouraging pupils to become inspired, intellectual, independent, individual and inclusive Wellingtonians and put wellbeing at the forefront of their educational pedagogy.

MAIN PURPOSE

• Planning and delivering outstanding primary music lessons.

• Contributing to the curriculum development of primary music  schemes of work.

• Taking a full role in the department’s extracurricular activities.

• Being an active member and contributing to the development and implementation of school concerts, performances, recitals and assemblies.

• Effectively tracking and reporting pupil progress at regular intervals leading to interventions where required.

• Ensuring all students are catered for and individual needs are tailored within planning and delivery of lessons.

• Providing an exciting environment which supports the personal development of each pupil.

• Setting high standards and expectations of behaviour among both staff and students. 

• Communicating professionally, effectively and regularly with all stakeholders of the school, including parents.

Main Responsibilities:

The Music Teacher will play a key role in the development of music at Huili School Hangzhou. The school is looking for a candidate who would relish the challenge of establishing the subject in a fairly new school.  

The Music teacher will have the responsibility of planning and delivering outstanding lessons, with a real emphasis on pupil progress. They are expected to keep abreast of UK curriculum developments and has the responsibility of ensuring these are implemented to ensure innovative and engaging lessons. The teacher is expected to understand the needs and requirements of all students, individually tailoring lessons to these.

The Music teacher is expected to track all progress data regularly in accordance with the school assessment calendar.

The Music teacher is expected to help fulfil the requirement of delivering a world class music education by contributing to the extracurricular activities and ensembles the department is offering. In addition, the Music teacher is expected to take an active role in all school concerts, performances, recitals and assemblies.

The Music teacher is expected to ensure classrooms are maintained to a high standard visually including the displaying of students work, display boards in corridors and classroom displays.

The Music teacher is expected to embody the highest standards of professionalism in his/her teaching and in his/her relationships with colleagues and parents. The Music teacher is expected to follow all school rules, including those related to classroom practice and out in the wider community.
