We have a unique and exciting opportunity arise for a Music Technician to join our music department.  The working basis of this role is 2 days per week during Term Time, allowing our appointed candidate to continue with other commitments that they may have.  Candidates need to be flexible in their mind-set and be able to tackle a variety of tasks that could present themselves throughout the day.  Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and experience using MacBooks. 

Duties and responsibilities associated with this role include the following;

  • To organise practical support for music and music technology teaching in the academy
  • To maintain resources and equipment
  • To have oversight of Health and Safety within the Music teaching area
  • To provide equipment and materials to support practical teaching in music and music technology
  • To be responsible for technical support during in-school and extra-curricular (by prior arrangement) events as required
  • To take responsibility for stock maintenance, control and safekeeping
  • To prepare equipment and materials for practical lessons, and remove it safely afterwards
  • To clean and maintain equipment and to keep the music area in good order
  • To order stock, check deliveries and organise stock cupboard
  • To purchase items from petty cash when required
  • To prepare visual aids for teaching staff
  • To put up and maintain performing arts displays around the academy
  • To prepare displays for open evenings and help out as appropriate
  • To assist in the classroom with students during practical activities
  • To arrange all the photocopying needs of the department
  • To assist with stock control of books, paper and non-specific stock items
  • To assist with any other task at reasonable requested.

Above all else, our successful candidate will have a great work-ethic and be able to turn their hand to any activity as requested! 

Working for the Academy:  The Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy campus incorporates nine buildings which include four home schools each serving 450 pupils and students, a Design, Technology and Creative and Performing Arts School, a Sport & Community Education Centre and an Inclusions Hub.  Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy is delighted be part of the Leigh Academies Trust who with the Stationers’ Company and Ravensbourne will enable the new Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy to enhance our provision and develop a Digital Curriculum fit for the future.
