Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG) plays an integral role in education both in the ACT and NSW operating 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and eight Early Learning Centres.

About the Role

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data collects data about school students with disabilities across Australia in a consistent, reliable, and systematic way. In practice, such students receive reasonable adjustments from the school so that they are able to participate in education on the same basis as their peers, as required by the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and Disability Standards for Education.

Key responsibilities will be to coordinate and provide schools with targeted professional development, resources and advice regarding NCCD processes and procedures.

Main responsibilities

  • Build the capacity of school leaders in relation to the implementation of the NCCD model
  • Support schools in identifying students with disabilities, recording accurate adjustments on
  • Personalised Plans, and ensuring schools have sufficient evidence
  • Build teacher’s capacity in making professional judgements on the levels of adjustments
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations regarding NCCD school wide practises to

leadership teams

  • Facilitate moderation in and across schools
  • Deliver Professional Learning on NCCD, Disability Discrimination Act and the Disability
  • Standards for Education
  • Ensure NCCD census data is accurate and in line with Catholic Education requirements
  • Consistent with Catholic Education's statement of values and ethics, employees in Catholic Education are responsible for upholding the mission by modelling positive relationships and acting in a manner that creates a safe and productive educational and pastoral environment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures
  • Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Essential Criteria

  • Sound understanding of and ability to articulate the Church’s mission in Catholic Education
  • Well-developed knowledge and experience implementing NCCD requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to build the capacity of teachers and leaders within schools in relation to the implementation of the NCCD model
  • Strong understanding of Disability Discrimination Act and Disability Standards for Education
  • Leadership experience in wellbeing, disability, and inclusion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent liaison, negotiation, conflict resolution and team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage changes effectively and deliver quality results
  • Ability to travel interstate
