Job overview

Network Manager Salary: NJC Grade 8 (SCP 27 – 32) £24,657 - £29,055 (Negotiable depending on experience) 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Exciting opportunity to deliver ICT support in our academy.   We are looking for a Network Manager with the ability to maintain our modern, well-equipped academy network. The role involves looking after our systems and ensuring that all computers and network facilities are fully operational. Our network is most impressive and was fully upgraded when we moved into our new academy building (2013). Nearly £750000 was spent on ICT equipment and server solutions. There have also been recent developments in the ICT infrastructure. This includes a virtual server recently installed by Wave 9 and an extensive WiFi solution that fully meets the needs of an expanding academy with an increasing roll; ICT provision in the academy is very good and has been maintained to a high standard.

The role requires somebody qualified to NVQ level 3 for IT, who can look after our systems and provide ICT support across the academy. We are a small school and there is the potential for the role to develop into a network manager post in the future but at present we need a colleague with the experience to fix any problems that may arise and carry out the day to day role of a Network Manager.  The appointed person will also be comfortable working in a classroom environment and supporting teachers during some ICT / computer science lessons. This part of the role might interest somebody who is looking to move into the classroom as an ICT teacher further in their career and wants to gain additional experience.  You will have experience of working with Hyper V, SCCM, Server 2012-2016, Windows 8 -10, office 365, mobile device management and VLANs  This is an exciting role and could provide a strong platform for a keen and enthusiastic colleague. The role would suit somebody who can work independently and is looking to develop their own professional experience in preparation for a network manager post or similar in the future.
