Dar Al Marefa is an IB World School offering a bilingual education in English and Arabic. Our curriculum reflects our respect for local and regional cultures while preparing our students for an increasingly complex and interconnected world. In 2019, we will move to a new state of the art campus we have developed alongside Pritzker Prize award winning architects RCR Arquitectes of Spain, with the aim of creating a healthy and enjoyable learning environment for our students, teachers and wider community. The new campus will cater to 2000 students across the 3 programs of PYP, MYP and DP. 

The role:

Dar al Marefa wish to appoint a talented and inspiring MYP Coordinator for their new school campus in Dubai. 

Reporting to the Leadership team, the MYP Coordinator will laise with the IBO in arranging workshops for the Middle School towards the recognition of the Middle School as an official  IB MYP member school, ensuring the school meet all regulations and deadlines. 

The successful applicant will help develop the curriculum, facilities and student safety including educational support. He/she will liaise with the teachers in the Arabic-medium and English-medium classes in order to successfully develop a fully bilingual Middle School.   

The MYP Coordinator will work with the Leadership team to develop a safe environment for the students; an acceptable level of behavioural expectations; a friendly, open and respectful relationship between the students and their parents and the staff; clearly understood lines of appropriate communication between the parents and the school; a working environment for the teachers where they feel valued and important members of the school community; a strong supportive programme for staff in professional development and their personal welfare. 

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Education or equivalent.
• IB or UK National curriculum exposure.
• Minimum 5 years experience, most recently as MYP Coordinator contributing to schools overall improved rating.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as cross-cultural management understanding.
