Newstead Wood School is a selective, high-achieving grammar school for girls with a mixed Sixth Form. Our lessons move at a fast pace and students are routinely challenged in their thinking. Languages are very popular subjects and students come to their lessons with high expectations and a desire for active and complex learning.
We are seeking to appoint a full time teacher of modern foreign languages to join our team from September 2018. You will be able to demonstrate the professional and personal qualities necessary to inspire our highly motivated and very capable students across all three Key Stages. We teach French, German and Spanish to A’ Level and the ideal candidate will be able to offer at least 2 of these 3 languages. Applications from NQTs are particularly welcome. The successful candidate will:

· Have an excellent understanding of all aspects of teaching and learning
· Be able to challenge, stimulate and engage young people
· Have excellent subject knowledge and a passion for languages

Newstead Wood is situated in Orpington in the London Borough of Bromley and there are excellent rail links to both London Bridge and Victoria Stations.

Newstead Wood is a highly selective girls’ state secondary school, with a co-educational Sixth Form, close to Orpington Station, with direct links to London. Our catchment radius covers a wide, rich range of socio-economic and ethnic areas: over 40% of students are from ethnic minorities and many of our students will be the first of their families to enter Higher Education.
