NQT Needed- Year 5 class

I have been asked to recruit a Newly Qualified Teacher on behalf of a primary school in Derby; this post will involve working within a mixed year 5 class.  The best candidate for this school would be one who is keen to prove themselves straight out of the blocks in September and hit the ground running in terms of getting the class on track and learning. The school want a teacher who is willing to commit to the class from September through to at least the Christmas holidays; this will be likely to change as the school have indicated to me that the right candidate will most likely be asked to stay on through at least the spring term.

The job role is on a part time basis as it is listed as a 0.8 key stage 2 position, this will most likely consist of 3 full days and two half days each week. The school’s location is ideally suited for someone who is based in Derby City, particularly the southern side. However as it has ample transport links it is still easily accessible for those a bit further afield. The School have specifically requested an NQT as they have an NQT mentor available and they currently have the resources to support an NQT within the school. Each class also has a dedicated Teaching Assistant which, in the case of this classroom, is experienced within the school giving a bit more breathing room for an NQT to adapt to the new school environment. 

The best candidate will demonstrate their ability to adapt to new situations as well as show the school’s ethos within their own personality and discipline. The school will be holding interviews for the post toward the end of August/ early September. I will also be able to fill any days left over with day to day supply work if a candidate so desires.

For any Teaching Assistant roles you must hold an NVQ Level 2 or above, a relevant educational degree or a minimum of 3 months relevant experience within a UK school in the last 5 years.
