The Vale Primary Academy are looking to appoint a Nursery Nurse and HLTA on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave to start in January until April 2022.  This post is two roles combined as one, working as a Nursery Nurse for 27.5 hours per week (Grade E), and a HLTA for 2.5 hours per week (Grade F).

Hours and Salary: Nursery Nurse, 27.5 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks per year), Grade E points 9 – 13 (£20,903 to £22,627 full time equivalent), subject to pro rata.  In this role you will provide a stimulating and effective curriculum which will enhance children’s emotional, social, physical and intellectual development. To provide high quality care that meets professional inspection standards.


Hours and Salary: HLTA, 2.5 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks per year), Grade F points 14 – 19 (£23,080 to £25,481 full time equivalent), subject to pro rata.  In this role you will compliment teachers’ delivery of the curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, students and academy policies and strategies. To work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. To supervise whole classes during the short term absence of teachers. To provide support to students, teachers and the academy in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes and to encourage students to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of students in all aspects of academy life.

The Vale Primary Academy caters for just over 250 boys and girls between the ages of three and 11. The school is situated on the boundary of Knottingley and Ferrybridge, three miles from Pontefract and four miles from Castleford.
