About the School

Located in the city of Hatyai in southern Thailand, Bloomsbury International School, Hatyai is a co-educational independent school.  Whilst most students are Thai, we do benefit from other nationalities being represented.  Bloomsbury is focused on providing an English-style education for its pupils, and therefore follows the English National Curriculum in Primary.

Primary students are given the typical range of subjects for a British-style school, with additional instruction in Thai language and culture, as appropriate for the school’s setting. Any new member of staff will be part of a tight-knit community within the school and will be fully supported by an experienced SLT determined to get the best out of every teacher and every student.

We have an expanding school roll and with continuing pedagogical improvements we fully expect this to continue to grow.  We are a small school with average year group sizes of twelve, this means that every student gets to make outstanding progress.   We value CPD for all members of our team and want all staff to develop during their time with us.  We know that the ability to progress as effective practitioners attracts the best teachers. We also recognise everyone has something to offer and want to recruit staff to bring  and share their experience. As a small school, we need everyone to lead and to be part of the team.

Location

Hatyai is located in southern Thailand close to the border with Malaysia; it is only 40 a minute drive to the nearest beach in Songkhla Town.  The city is a regional hub for tourism  and a gateway to many of southern Thailand's other destinations.  With easy internal links to Krabi, Phuket, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Koh Samui, and Koh Lipe as well as 16 flights per day to Bangkok it is easy to spend your weekends or holidays exploring Thailand.  Internationally, there are daily flights to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur both of which are only a short distance away, providing easy links to much of Asia.

Hatyai is an up and coming city without the high cost of living found in other more frequented destinations in Thailand.  Hatyai does not have the thriving nightlife scene of Bangkok but there are bars,  music venues and restaurants   serving a range of Western, Asian and local food . As a professional in Thailand you are respected by the whole community and you can fully expect this in Hatyai which has a very 'Thai' feel with a  local population who are friendly and helpful, welcoming people with the famous 'Thai Smile'.
