Job overview

Wootton Park School (WPS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Office Administrator. The hours of work are 20 hours a week (between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday) term time (plus TTDs).

The position requires enthusiasm, team work, motivation and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Suitable candidates will have experience of working in a busy administration position.

Currently a small school, we grow exponentially year on year and are in the exciting stages of planning to transition to our new £20 million school premises which will be completed in July 2020, ready for when WPS reaches its full capacity of 1,260 learners. As our school grows, so too does the need for high quality support staff. We are looking to build our committed and passionate team in line with our growing school.

Wootton Park School offers a first-rate and unique learning environment, ensuring high levels of academic achievement and personal development for all, while promoting the value of public service and building a stronger society. As an all-through (4-19) school, we believe this brings a significant number of benefits for learners and staff, and we seek staff who share this vision with us.

We are delighted that our school received the top grade rating of 'outstanding' in all five inspection categories of its first Ofsted report: overall effectiveness, leadership and management, behaviour and safety of pupils, quality of teaching, achievement of pupils and early years provision.

Ofsted praised the school for its outstanding leadership: “The principal, together with senior leaders and governors, leads with unapologetic ambition and an unwavering determination to secure the highest possible standards of education and well-being for pupils and staff".

Inspectors also noted that “The quality of teaching, learning and assessment is of a consistently high quality” and that “Achievement is outstanding in the early years and at key stages 1 and 3".

If you are inspired by this exceptional opportunity to join us at this stage of our journey to excellence, we want to hear from you.

Offer of a position is subject to receiving satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS Disclosure.

Wootton Park School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are an equal opportunities employer.

Please note we do not accept CVs and references will be applied for at the shortlisting stage.

Application closing date:  29th June 2020, 12 noon.

Interview date: Given the unprecedented circumstances, we hope to hold interviews, in person, as soon as government announces schools can re-open.

Wootton Park School reserve the right to close before the deadline on receipt of sufficient applications.

Our Journey...

WPS opened in 2016 with two Reception and four Year 7 classes.

In September 2022, we had our first Year 6 cohort, so are now operational in every year group. In 2020 we moved into our brand new £20 million state-of-the-art school building, allowing our primary children to learn in state of the art science labs, food room and sports hall. As an all-though school, our primary children benefit from subject specialist teaching in Spanish, PE, art and technology.

WPS offers its learners a first-rate and unique learning environment, ensuring high levels of academic achievement and personal development for all, while promoting the value of public service and building a stronger society. As an all-through (4-19) school, we believe this brings a significant number of benefits to learners and staff, and we seek staff who share this vision with us.

What we can offer you...

As you can imagine, WPS is at an exciting stage of its journey. With school growth, there is an exponential amount of potential to develop responsibilities and grow your career by shaping policy, launching initiatives and contributing to the school's desire to  achieve excellence.

Our school coaching policy promotes a supportive and encouraging work environment to all staff in achieving their own goals and professional development.

Staff achievements are openly acknowledged and encouraged.
