Office Manager (Administrative Officer – XS8.4a) 

(37 hours per week, £9.72 per hour, DCC Grade 7, 38 weeks per year)

We are looking to appoint a flexible and enthusiastic Administrative Officer to manage our expert team of 3 admin staff in this large 503 pupil junior school.

The main purpose of the post is to ensure the provision of an efficient and comprehensive administrative/clerical and secretarial service to ensure the smooth running of the school. The successful applicant would be expected to act as a link between the administrative and secretarial team and the Headteacher.

You will be required to carry out a range of general office duties including word processing, filing, photocopying, etc and will need to be competent with Microsoft Word and Excel packages. The post involves taking minutes of meetings, including those to review the statements of children with SEN. 

Previous experience of working in a school would be an advantage and an ability to work in a very busy office with frequent interruptions is essential.

Christchurch Junior School is a large, popular junior school which has recently joined the Twynham Learning Multi Academy Trust. It caters for over 500 children aged between 7 and 11 years. The children spend four years here. The classes are organised in year groups hosting four classes each and the school also has a Speech and Language Base which caters for 16 children. We welcome children from all walks of life, all faiths and all abilities. The children enjoy excellent facilities in purpose built premises, which were constructed in 2001.
