Job overview

Lancing College is seeking to appoint an Organist from January 2019 on a temporary basis for two terms. The successful candidate will be required to play for all regular and occasional services (mainly on Wednesday and some Sunday mornings) and, ideally, for Congregational Hymn Practice (Tuesday mornings) and assembly (Friday mornings),* and to take responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the Chapel’s three organs.

It will be the post-holder's responsibility to provide appropriately skilled deputies to cover for foreseeable absences.

There is also the possibility of other responsibilities in the Music School and beyond, e.g. organ tuition, other 1:1 instrumental or vocal teaching, accompanying, class teaching, ensemble coaching, administration, depending on skills, experience and availability.
