Job overview

We are looking to appoint a forward-thinking, efficient and committed Personal Assistant to support the Head of this rapidly improving primary academy.

Salary information: SO1
Working hours: 36 hours per week, Term-time only (plus equivalent of up to 5 days per year as directed), total 39 weeks

The purpose of the post is to provide executive support to the Head in managing and organising their diary and in assisting in every aspect of the day-to-day running of the School. The Head’s PA also acts as a first point of contact for the Head both within and outside the school, so the ability to communicate in a warm, supportive, understanding and professional manner is crucial. The Head’s PA also works as Office Manager, leading a team of three front-office administrative staff so good leadership and interpersonal skills are essential. The post requires excellent spoken and written communication and organisation skills with a high level of efficiency. A strong command of written English is essential, in order to draft correspondence, coupled with excellent IT skills. The successful candidate should have the ability to work on their own initiative and prioritise effectively. The PA to the Head is a pivotal, demanding and busy role and would suit a calm, focused individual who enjoys variety and challenge in their day-to-day work. Previous experience of being a Personal Assistant would be an advantage.

We can offer:

  • Quality guidance and professional development opportunities
  • A friendly, very supportive and innovative senior team who are passionate about our school
  • A dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic staff team
  • Wonderful children who are happy and eager to learn
  • A supportive community who are invested in their school
  • A fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting and forward thinking Trust, working in partnership with other schools

Visits to the school are very warmly welcomed and we would be delighted to show you around. Please contact the school to arrange a visit: enquiries@williambyrd.school

Closing date: 12pm Friday 1 July 2022
Earlier applications are welcome and interviews may take place prior to the closing date with mutual agreement.

CVs will not be accepted.

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and other pre-employment checks.
