St Michael’s Catholic School (Wycombe Campus)

St Michael’s Catholic School is an extremely popular, over-subscribed school that consists of two campuses across Bucks and is an all-through school with students from nursery to sixth form. Our Primary Phase is two-form entry with a Nursery that caters for 30 children.

St Michael’s Catholic School requires a Primary Teacher to join our successful Primary Phase based on our Wycombe campus. We seek to recruit the very best candidate to contribute to our exceptional learning community; a well-qualified, enthusiastic and flexible teacher who is committed to supporting pupils’ education and able to teach across the Primary Phase age range. Dynamism, enthusiasm and a will to constantly learn and develop are essential requirements. We would like to hear from candidates who are highly aspirational for the students they serve. This role would suit an Early Career Teacher or someone with experience.

St Michael’s is a supportive, positive working environment where every person matters. staff are valued highly, everything we achieve is down to the diligence and commitment of our teaching and support staff. If you have the potential to be an exceptional practitioner who makes a significant contribution to our learning community, we would love to hear from you.

St Michael’s pupils composed the school’s mission statement of “achieve in faith with love as a community”. Young people are entering an increasingly complex world; the leaders of the future will require empathies, attributes and attitudes that will allow them to navigate and thrive in a world characterized by change. Our focus on Gospel values, strong relationships and exceptional pastoral support, provide the bedrock of our work.

At St Michael's you will be part of a welcoming, forward thinking learning community with dedicated, professional staff and opportunities for personal and career development. We are determined that St Michael's will be second to none in the quality of its curriculum opportunities, teaching, learning, staff and resources. Our diverse and exciting range of opportunities for enrichment and learning outside the classroom give students the opportunity to grow in a broad range of contexts contributing to the development of happy, confident and ambitious young people.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A well-qualified teacher with a vision for the future
  • A highly motivated team player
  • An excellent classroom practitioner, able and willing to teach across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Determined to develop professionally
  • Committed to the care, safeguarding and inclusion of all pupils
  • Able to inspire pupils
  • Confident working in partnership with others
  • An excellent communicator
  • Supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school
  • Demonstrate a commitment to raising attainment through extra-curricular activities

St Michael’s Catholic School educates its students through the teachings of Christ. The school believes in developing students' spirituality and faith to prepare them for adult life. It also aims to ensure pupils have respect for one another. By praying regularly and worshipping as a collective, children are able to develop a better understanding of the themes throughout the liturgical year.

Ofsted report

“Teaching is usually good and some is outstanding. Teachers have good subject knowledge, present introductions clearly to classes and support students well with their learning. Teachers check on learning regularly in lessons and adapt activities where necessary so progress remains good. Students have positive attitudes to learning and behave well around the school. They say they feel safe in the school and they have a good awareness of how to keep themselves safe in different situations.
