Job overview
The school is seeking a professional and motivated teacher who will share responsibility for the planning and delivery of the curriculum for a Year 4 class. Experience of teaching all subjects at KS2 is preferred and candidates should be confident and proficient in planning and teaching lessons appropriate to the needs of the pupils, in consultation with parallel teachers. In addition, they will be required to set and maintain high educational and moral standards, undertake other appropriate duties as may be required, participate in and support the school in all its many and varied activities.
As a teacher at Newland House School, you will support the school’s aim in ensuring that we provide a curriculum that is broad and balanced, covering the academic, artistic and physical elements that are crucial for the development of the whole child. We set high standards of learning for all the children in a caring and supportive environment, and you will help to promote our ethos in encouraging enquiring minds and building pupil’s strengths, interests and experiences. We pride ourselves in fostering excellent home/school relationships with parents and the candidate will be expected to have strong communication skills.
The teacher will work as a member of the Year 4 team and job share working 2. 3 days a week (Wednesday to Friday).
This post is primarily to cover maternity leave for up to one year and is likely to be from September 2021.
The post merits a salary commensurate with the role and the successful applicant's relevant experience and would be paid pro-rata. The full-time salary is from £28,666 p.a. to £42,100 p.a. and you will be paid pro-rata at 0.6 FTE.
Newland House School is a successful, flourishing co-educational independent day school for children from 4 to 13 years, based in Twickenham in South West London.
