Part-time Teacher of Chinese
Only teachers already living in Singapore before 7 January 2019 will be considered for this role. SJI International is seeking to employ a part-time (60% of a normal load) teacher to join our Chinese team. The Chinese Department at SJI International prides itself on the quality and authenticity of the relationships our staff have with our students. The Department aims to equip students with the effective use of Chinese that is relevant for today’s world, critical thinking and communication skills, as well as to instil an appreciation of Chinese culture. Chinese is taught from Grade 7-10 at three different levels (First Language Chinese, Second Language Chinese and Foreign Language Chinese) and IB DP Chinese A and B. Specifically, we are looking for an experienced Chinese Language teacher who has a degree in Chinese Language and Literature, and one who is prepared to make meaningful contributions to the Chinese Department. For all teaching posts the successful candidates will have a good first degree in their teaching specialism, a recognised teaching qualification and a proven track record as inspirational teachers. The ability to teach across the age and ability range from Grade 7 (12 year-olds) to IB Diploma level is preferred unless a middle school / IB Diploma specialism is specifically stated.
