SJI International is seeking to employ the following for January 2019:

A late expansion in student numbers due to additional classes in Grades 7 and 8, has led to the creation of this new position. SJI International students are highly motivated and enjoyable to work with. Approximately 50% of students take Additional Maths at IGCSE and many of those continue on to challenge themselves at IB Diploma higher level. We are seeking an enthusiastic, interesting and interested teacher to join our team.

This position is suitable only for people ordinarily resident in Singapore in January 2019. Applications are encouraged from either middle or high school specialists. 

Please note that this is initially for a 6 month contract period with the intention to extend or make the position full time in July 2019.

Although the job description indicates IB level teaching, the position includes teaching the Maths Studies course only. The role can be adapted to suit a middle school maths teacher if needed.

Additional Requirements 

For all teaching posts the successful candidates will have a good first degree in their teaching specialism, a recognised teaching qualification and a proven track record as inspirational teachers. The ability to teach across the age and ability range from Grade 7 (12 year-olds) to IB Diploma level is preferred unless a middle school / IB Diploma specialism is specifically stated. Significant training and development opportunities are available for teachers (both in-house and through external providers) and the desire to take part in and contribute to collaborative school and personal development is essential. SJI International always seeks to employ teachers who are willing to become fully involved in the holistic life of the school. Our School
Situated on a spacious, leafy campus with impressive facilities, SJI International High School is an independent coeducational Lasallian Catholic day school. Currently in its tenth year, the school has grown steadily and enjoys an outstanding reputation for quality education in Singapore. The school follows a Southern Hemisphere academic year (January to December). The student body numbers some 1040 students (aged 12 - 18), with 390 IB Diploma students in Grades 11 and 12. Academic standards are very high. The average IB Diploma score for our most recent cohort of students was 37.9 points (in 2017), with 42% of our students achieving 40 points or more (a record for the school). Our most recent A*/A pass rate at IGCSE was 72% (38% at A*).
