Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

We aim to ensure all guests receive the best service at Hedgehogs Woodland Adventures whilst being made to feel welcome.  Parties at Hedgehogs are very popular and we can accommodate 2 parties per day on Saturdays and Sundays.

The role of the Party Host is to take control of the party from beginning to end whilst ensuring you keep in regular contact with the client to ensure you are delivering a schedule that meets their needs and expectations. 

  • You will have a passion for working with children and be able to keep high levels of enthusiasm throughout the party. 
  • Ability to interact with all visitors both adults and children.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well with the assistant, demonstrating a good relationship when visitors are present.
  • Ability to direct the assistant effectively during the parties.
  • The ability to keep calm under pressure and find solutions/make last minute changes to ensure the party runs smoothly in all circumstances.
  • A good understanding of the importance of cleanliness, ensuring children’s hands are washed before food is consumed.
  • A good understanding of hygienic food handling and preparation outdoors.
  • Setting, maintaining and extinguishing a fire for each party.
  • Ensuring all personal protective equipment is visible and to hand.
  • Ensuring all visitors (adults and children) are aware of safety rules before the party begins.
  • Setting up and clearing down each party in accordance with the task sheet.
  • Ensuring the site is fully secure before you leave- padlocks to shed and gate locked and main car park gate fully closed and secure.

Working times

Alternate weekends on an adhoc basis, rotas are produced approximately one month in advance.

Summer parties run from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm, hours worked would be 10am-4.15pm.

If there was only a morning party, hours worked would be 10am-12.15, if there was only an afternoon party, hours worked would be 2pm-4.15pm

Occasionally, the times of parties vary slightly but the number of hours worked would be the same.
