Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pastoral and Curriculum Support Mentor and Cover Supervisor at Danesfield Church of England School. We require a dedicated, supportive and motivated candidate to support the pastoral and curriculum needs of pupils in KS2 and transition into KS3. This may require working with individuals and groups of pupils in supporting them to make strong, positive choices that allow them to access learning when times become challenging. It will require communication with tutors, parents, SLT and outside agencies to ensure that the right decisions and interventions are in place for pupils in KS2. There will also be a need to cover lessons in KS2 when required. You will be part of a strong team and liaise closely with tutors in the identification and intervention for pupil/groups of pupils. Covering lessons will form part of this role and allow for the post holder to contextualize the experiences of our young people in and out of the classroom.

We can offer a comprehensive induction and targeted CPD as well as a number of opportunities trust-wide.

You are warmly encouraged to get in touch prior to application to discuss the position. David McGrath, Headteacher, is available to have an informal discussion with interested applicants about the role. Please contact Kellie Willis by email on kwillis791@wsat.org.uk to arrange a discussion or to visit the school if you wish.

Please submit your completed application form and covering letter via TES by 3:00pm Monday 23rd  May– please note that we do not accept CVs.  Interview date to be confirmed.

This position will be offered to the successful candidate subject to references and obtaining the necessary clearances.

The West Somerset Academies Trust adheres to Safer Recruitment procedures and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share our commitment.  A criminal disclosure check will be requested for any applicant who is offered a position.
