The governors of Manston St James CE Primary School are seeking to recruit a talented and committed Pastoral Care Leader who is passionate about the development of children. As a school, we are committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for our children. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional looking to start, or continue their career.

The successful candidates will:

· Support the Inclusion Leader in working with individuals and groups of children in school who are experiencing emotional health and behavioural difficulties. This will be achieved through the delivery of targeted programmes including THRIVE.

· Through the development of positive relationships and mentoring, support class teachers and teaching assistants in working with children with social and emotional health difficulties in their settings. 

· Support parents in understanding and meeting the social, emotional and physical needs of their children.

· Carry out observations and assessments as required to monitor pupils progress

· Engage in planned activities with individual pupils and small groups to develop and promote positive emotional health and well-being.

· Possess skills of empathy, listening, communication and responding with appropriate language to build rapport with children and parents/ carers from a variety of ages, abilities and backgrounds.

· Have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. To follow child protection and other related policies and good practice procedures.
