Description | The Pastoral Care Worker is responsible for the pastoral care and spiritual wellbeing of the students and staff of Holy Spirit Primary School, Kurri Kurri. | |
Essential Criteria | • have an understanding and willingness to support and follow the Catholic Identity and mission of the school.
• have a good understanding of the Catholic School and the wider community • have good organisational and communication skills (with teachers, clergy, parents and students) • have an ability to collaborate and work effectively in teams • have an ability to work effectively in a school environment • have an ability to work closely with school principals and executive in achieving specific strategic goals • be competent and capable in monitoring and reporting requirements • have a minimum qualification in Certificate IV in Youth Work or Pastoral Care or equivalent qualification. These must include mental health related and making appropriate referrals unit/s of competency • Interpersonal skills • Understanding and compassion towards the marginalised • Prioritisation of the well- being of students and families. |

Holy Spirit Primary School is a co-educational K-6 Catholic Primary School located in the Newcastle suburb of Kurri Kurri, north of Sydney, New South Wales. The school was established in 1908 by the Sisters of St Joseph, however its name was changed to its current title in 1991 bringing it inline with the Parish name. The current student population is 105.
