Job overview

We are looking for a Pastoral Lead to assist in creating the right ‘climate’ for all pupils to maximise their achievements across the spectrum of school life.  This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of this provision for pupils aged 8-16.

At this exciting time for the school, we are looking for an individual with a passion for SEN to join our team and make an impact on the learning of our students. The successful applicant will need to be able to work flexibly, have excellent behaviour management skills and be prepared to assist pupils on a one to one basis as well as in small groups.  You will be a reference point for pupils and families who are referred by teaching and support staff.

Sir Bobby Robson School educates young people between the ages of 8-16 who have a wide range of social, emotional and mental health needs. Many of the pupils are also on the Autistic Spectrum. The school serves a catchment area that covers Ipswich and surrounding areas of Suffolk.

The school is part of a collaborative, forward thinking Academy Trust of 30 schools. The school is part of a network of special schools, alongside The Bridge School, Ipswich, Sir Peter Hall School, Bury St Edmunds and Churchill Special School, Haverhill. In addition to this, we have been approved to open a new special school in Romford. You will be supported in your role by experienced special education leaders who will be available to offer and advice and guidance as the school moves forward.

For more information, to arrange a visit or an informal discussion about the role please contact Adam Dabin, Headteacher, by email head@sbrschool.co.uk or phone 01473 5562 10.
