St Joseph’s College, Coomera is a new P-12 Catholic College in the Josephite tradition opening in January 2019. The College will be located in Coomera, 40 minutes South of the Brisbane CBD and the Gold Coast. The core values of the College will be Faith, Community and Excellence.

We are currently seeking to employ a suitably experienced  Pastoral Leader (Tier 3). Applicants should provide: a written statement indicating your reasons for applying, including your leadership experience in Catholic schools.

The successful applicant will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education
  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
  • be prepared to work in a P-12 context and be willing to participate in full P-12 College events and practices where appropriate.
  • be willing to teach and lead across both Primary and Secondary years of the school, particularly specialist teacher.
  • be flexible and forward thinking in their approach to classrooms and fully conversant with current best practice in learning and teaching. For BCE employees this is demonstrated practice and understanding of the Effective and Expected Practices of the BCE Model of Pedagogy. For all other applicants this is demonstrated knowledge and application of the model of pedagogy used in their school and an understanding of the BCE Model of Pedagogy.

 

Strong consideration will be given to applicants who:

  • have experience across English, Humanities and the Arts curriculums
  • are able to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school or be eligible for accreditation to teach Religious Education.

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
