Job overview

To implement and deliver a broad International Curriculum according to the age, aptitude and the abilities of the pupils being taught which maintaining the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside of the classroom at all times. Teachers will contribute to constructive team building amongst teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and members of the board of directors. We are looking for an exceptional teacher who has at least 3+ years experience teaching the subject with students aged 3-18 and who are committed to a strive for excellence, continuos improvement, keen to inspire and enthuse students.

In general, teaching staff will be responsible for the following:

• Teach students who follow our Cambridge programmes, IB and General High School Diploma students;

• Teach students of all ranges and abilities in our Junior (FS1 to Yrs 5), Middle (Yrs 6 to 9) and Senior School (Yrs 10 to 13);

• Ensure good supervision and discipline, through efficient planning and preparation which may include course outlines, curriculum and daily planning;

• Commit to delivering the curriculum in an engaging, inquiry-based manner that encourages explicit;

• Development of core skills and encompasses links to other subjects and the world outside the classroom;

• Practitioner with exceptional drive and energy, committed to working and contributing to part of a dynamic team;

• High expectations of him or herself and his/her students and is committed to ensuring every student has a positive learning experience;

• Adhere to departmental assessment policies and practices;

• Write reports as required by the school;

• Attend parent teacher/tutor conferences as required by the school;

• Attend meetings within the school’s planned schedule;

• Cover lessons if needed in case of the absence of a member of staff;

• Offer coaching to supplement the team sports offered at St George’s as part of the extra-curricular programme ;

• Act as tutor to a group of approximately 10 students taken from all sections of the senior school (Year 7-Year 13), taking an interest in their academic progress and welfare;

• Act as a role model for the students and as an ambassador for the school both in the way he/she behaves and observes the school’s dress code;

• Be a team player, relating well to colleagues and parents;

• Is internationally minded and supportive of our multilingual setting.
