Harrow School Shanghai is a high-performing and market-leading international British curriculum school located in one of the most exciting cities in the world. It is the fourth school in the prestigious Harrow family of highly renowned schools in the Asia region, providing an independent education from Early Years to Upper Sixth within a high specification, modern and purpose-built campus.  

The School combines the enduring core elements of the educational philosophy, practice and traditions of Harrow School in London, alongside the very modern international mindedness of a diverse and ambitious pupil body. 

Having opened in September 2016, the School’s roll is growing annually throughout its Pre-prep, Prep and Senior Schools. The pupils, who are simply a delight to teach, go on to study IGCSEs and A Levels, and the very first Upper Sixth leavers will be entering the most competitive universities across the globe in 2019. Harrow Shanghai is, however, about much more than academic results and our pupils excel in music, drama, sport and the creative arts as well as involving themselves in service to the local community. 

The School is seeking a dynamic, committed and inspiring PE Teacher, to commence in post in August 2019.

About Harrow International School, Shanghai

Harrow School Shanghai is a co-educational day school for students aged from 18 months to 18 years. The teaching is based upon the EYFS Framework and the English National Curriculum, culminating in IGCSEs for Removes and Fifth Form (Years 10 and 11), and A levels within the Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13). With a world-renowned reputation for its rich heritage of educational excellence, unique traditions and inspiring Leadership and Service programme, Harrow boasts a state-of-the-art campus with outstanding facilities, all located within 35 minutes of the epicenter of one of the world's most exciting and dynamic cities.

Harrow Shanghai is the fourth international school in the Harrow family of schools, joining those in Bangkok, Beijing and Hong Kong, alongside the historic Harrow School and its near-neighbour, John Lyon School, in London.

The School is organised as follows:

  • Early Years -Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception
  • Pre-Prep-Years 1- 4
  • Prep -Years 5- 8
  • Senior: Shells, Removes and Fifth Form (Years 9–11) and Sixth Form (Year 12-13)

The School is located in a modern custom-built facility, which accurately reflects the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai. The School combines elements of educational philosophy, practice and traditions from Harrow School in London within the context of the international minded-set of a diverse student body in Shanghai.  It is envisaged that the School will eventually grow to a roll of approximately 950. As with the other Harrow Schools, Shanghai’s vision, 'Leadership for a better world', is realised by means of a characteristically Harrow approach to schooling which demands of students and teachers high academic attainment, involvement in a rich array of extra-curricular activities, and engagement in high quality pastoral support structures, particularly the House system. Students are assigned into Houses where their which their academic and all-round well-being is monitored, nurtured and supported.
