The St Lawrence Academy is a small academy for 11-16 year old boys and girls of all abilities.  Ofsted stated that we continue to be a good academy (July 2016).   We are an inclusive academy striving to meet the needs of all our learners in our caring environment.  We are sponsored by the Diocese of Lincoln and have a strong Christian ethos and we are an equal opportunities employer.  We welcome students from all backgrounds and faiths, regardless of ability.

At the academy, we want all students to feel included and be inspired to develop their talents - whatever they may be.  We offer a broad balanced curriculum and an environment for learning which inspires our students to do their very best.  This is what we expect.

The Physical Education Department at the academy work collaboratively to provide appropriate opportunities and experiences for students to achieve their optimum potential, both within curriculum time and via an extensive extra-curricular programme.  At KS4 the department currently offer examination courses in BTEC Performing Arts Dance and OCR Cambridge National Certificates in Sports Science and Health and Social Care.  Results over previous years have been consistently good and have contributed significantly to the Academy Progress 8 score. There are a variety of different opportunities and responsibilities within the department to help with your continuing professional development and work alongside a dynamic and experienced group of staff that will further support your development.

Our students are excellent ambassadors for the academy and are proud to wear our uniform and be part of our aspirations for their future.  We want them to be determined to succeed, confident in their abilities and fully involved in the life of the academy, the local community and beyond.

PE Technician

Required for September 2018

37 hours per week (Term time only + 5 days)

Living Wage £16881 per annum (£14312 pro rata)

1 Year Fixed Term Contract 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an enthusiastic technician to support and further develop the work in the PE department
  • Be a self-motivated person
  • Work as part of a very strong team and be expected to play a full role
  • Have the ability to support and communicate effectively with students and staff 
  • Be flexible and organised
  • Desirably have the ability to cope with challenging situations
  • Preferably have some experience of supervising children
  • Passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people
  • Well organised and hardworking as well as committed to high standards
  • Have flexibility, vision and commitment

This post will initially be for a fixed term of one year but may lead to a permanent position.

The St Lawrence Academy is a thriving Church Academy that has successfully served its local community since opening in 2008 and provides children with fantastic opportunities for personal and spiritual growth.
