Job overview

 Key Responsibilities:  Along with some teaching (.2-.4) this position coordinates and directs the activities of the Performing Arts program at ISB.  Promotion and Program Development  

  • Produce, publicize and attend productions and concerts. 
  • Propose and facilitate on-going improvements for Performing Arts venues, curriculum and equipment as well as Performing Arts classrooms. 
  • Attend parent and staff meetings as needed to inform about events. 
  • Collaborate with Communications to keep the ISB community informed of Performing Arts developments and performances. 
  • Manage and contribute to newsletters and information bulletins. 
  • Present recommendations for development of Performing Arts facilities, and research vendors/suppliers. 
  • Assume a role in the Vertical Curriculum Area Leadership (CAL) team and support Performing Arts CALs in their role as curriculum leaders. 

Management 

  • Manage booking calendars and staffing for Performing Arts venues. 
  • Liaise with divisional offices, ATAC office, Service desk, IT Office and IB Office regarding booking requirements and event schedules. 
  • Work with Activities Director on budgets for major productions, Performing Arts Office and venue maintenance. 
  • Supervise and train support and technical staff. 

Performance and Event support 

  • Assist and advise faculty and students in all areas of planning and production of performance events. 
  • With collaboration of the Performing Arts team ensure high quality production value and appropriate content of all performance events by taking on the Producer role for large scale events. 
  • Represent Admin at Arts events and deal with issues that may arise.  
  • Arrange for technical and front of house support for events. 
  • Arrange for video recording and reproduction of all events. 

Planning 

  • Assist K-12 faculty in planning annual Performing Arts season. 
  • Coordinate whole school events calendar and resolve conflicts between divisions as needed. 
  • Advise on hiring Performing Arts faculty when requested. 
  • Support program planning and development of the PK-12 Performing Arts program/curriculum. 

Outside of ISB Commitments: 

  • Research and recommend hosting commitments for ISB. 
  • Manage the number of commitments of our programs outside of school – evaluate the value and articulate a program of outside of school commitments for ISB. 

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
  • Current, relevant teaching certification/licensure
  • Minimum of five years of successful full-time teaching experience
  • Full proficiency in the English language
  • Dedication to the Vision, Mission and Core Values of ISB
