The Creative Industries department are looking for a 0.85 FTE teacher to support the delivery and quality of our FE and Higher Education Performing Arts delivery at our Lichfield Campus from September, with a specific focus towards musical theatre and acting.

About the role

We are looking to appoint an outstanding, highly motivated and experienced teacher in performing arts, to lead on our HE Foundation Degree programme of study, and in supporting the delivery of our FE delivery.  The role will require a firm understanding of the University programmes, quality assurance processes, and focus around musical theatre for HE, in addition to some acting and musical theatre aspects on our Level 3 provision.  

The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a sound understanding / experience of both HE and FE programmes in collaboration with our HE manager, while teaching across a range or performing arts disciplines and practices.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating the HE provision and liaising with our university partners to ensure all validation requirements are met and quality procedures are maintained.

Qualifications desired/essential

Essential – Degree or relevant performing arts qualification with a Musical Theatre focus in line with our HE programme, in addition to principles of acting, supported by relevant industry experience.  PGCE or DTTLs Teaching qualification. Experience of HE delivery and quality processes and working with University partners. A need to demonstrate Safeguarding and PREVENT expectations.

Desirable – Experience of validation practices, award boards and course evaluations.
