About Us

Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2019, our Progress 8 score of +1.57 has been recognised as the 4th highest in the country by the Department for Education. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils’ life chances and last year, over 50% of pupils leaving us went on to Russell Group Universities to study a range of academic subjects. In September 2020, Wembley High will also be welcoming pupils from North Brent School in Year 7 for two years while their new £27 million building is completed. The addition of a new school in our Multi-Academy Trust provides exciting development and leadership opportunities for staff in the years to come.

The Music Department

We are looking for a peripatetic music teacher who can make a significant contribution to this strong and successful department by coaching Key Stage 3 and 4 students to develop as performers. At GCSE, Music is a popular subject where pupils strive to succeed at the highest levels. All GCSE students have one peripatetic music lesson per week and Years 7 and 8 can choose to have instrumental lessons. Alongside singing students can study an instrument from one of the following families:

• Strings

• Woodwind

• Brass

• Keyboard

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to coach students to perform accurately and expressively from complete beginners’ level to at least a Grade 5 standard across a number of different instruments.  The number of hours per week will depend on how many students require lessons in each instrument. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the lives of students and be a part of a dynamic and focused team.
