We are wanting to appoint to what we believe to be an exciting role working directly with skilled and motivated teachers across all primary key stages. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of the school’s curriculum and assessment strategies and will be expected to ensure rapid improvements are made in the proportion of high-quality teaching, through modelling and coaching systems. The leadership role will facilitate a happy, stimulating learning environment catering for the needs of all children whilst providing a broad and balanced curriculum in which every child can develop. Resulting  gains in learning outcomes will be expected.

Key skills and experience required:

 • Ability to show initiative;

 • Significant success as a classroom teacher; 

• Previous development work within own or a different school;

 • Strong behaviour management; 

• Experience in analysing progress information to accurately provide interventions for individuals or groups; 

• Effective communication skills and the ability to provide succinct feedback to teachers parents or other stakeholders;

 • Demonstrate complete professionalism;  

 The successful candidate will also have highly effective numeracy & literacy skills. At all times, they will maintain the welfare & safety of the children as their priority.

De Lacy opened in the summer of 2010. The School replaced Pontefract Willow Park Junior School and Pontefract Chequerfield Infant School and joined Pontefract Academies Trust in 2013. The School is a one and half form entry primary and aims to:

  • To provide a happy, stimulating learning environment that caters for the needs of all children.
