Poole High School is an 11-19 comprehensive school serving families throughout the historic town of Poole. As the largest school in this selective catchment, we pride ourselves on the fact that all students thrive in this caring and collaborative team. Our students are well motivated and co-operative, and the team spirit in this large school is second to none.
Our students are well motivated and examination performance at Key Stages 4 and 5 has rapidly progressed over the last 5 years. This year, we achieved the school’s best ever GCSE results and were placed first in the post 16 league table in Poole for value added. Consequently, we are within the top 25% of schools nationally at KS4 and KS5 for progress and Poole local authority is in the top decile nationally for attainment 8.
Results in the Physical Education department compare extremely favourably to National averages, even within an area where Grammar schools select the most able students. Last summer 72% of our students attained a grade C or above; with 48% achieving an A*- B grade. Our AS results have been judged by Alps score as 3 (excellent) and our A2 results have risen year on year and is currently a 2 (outstanding). Our BTEC Sport results at KS4 and 5 are fantastic. Needless to say we have enjoyed good success at all levels.
The school has delightful landscaped grounds and is very well resourced, being located at the heart of the town with excellent access by road and public transport. The quality of life in Poole is good and there is easy access to diverse range of cultural and scenic attractions.
