HeadStart is based in the centre of Phuket Island and is a fully accredited International School with The Education Development Trust, having been awarded the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM). The most recent accreditation showed the school to be a ‘Good School with Outstanding Features’.

We have been offering Cambridge qualifications throughout all Key Stages and IGCSEs for many years. The school now has over 740 students on roll.

In August 2015 the school entered the latest phase in its exciting and rapid development when we moved into to a new state of the art campus. As part of the move to the new school, we also opened our Sixth-Form and had the first cohort completing their A Level examinations in 2017. Some of these students have been with HeadStart since the very beginning and have now graduated to worldwide universities. Examination results in June 2018 were excellent with 95% of all IGCSEs at A*-C and 41% at A*-A. At AS Level we have students who achieved Top in Thailand awards as well as achieving A grades in all subjects. 

Physical Education Teacher

We are looking for an excellent PE teacher with experience of teaching Primary or Secondary  aged students. The candidate must have excellent organisational skills, have a proven track record of outstanding practice as a teacher and a desire to contribute to our extensive and growing extra-curricular sporting program. Specific experience in teaching or coaching Swimming is desirable.  

This is an exciting phase for the development of PE and sport in the school.  The school has invested heavily in brand new sports facilities and we are looking for the right candidate to help further utilise the wonderful new facilities now available.  The successful candidate will be working with a team of highly professional dedicated PE and coaching staff to further build on and develop the high quality of PE and Sport at the school.  

Candidates should be willing to bring inspiration, passion and a real love of PE and Sport to the faculty. The candidate should also have a willingness to be a reflective practitioner who could further enhance the teaching and learning in the school.

Requirements / Application Details –
Essential Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of the UK based curriculum
• Experience of teaching or coaching swimming
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognised university
• A recognised teaching qualification, BEd., PGCE, iPGCSE or Equivalent
• Fluent English speakers

Desirable Requirements (not essential):

• Experience and understanding of the assessment requirements for IGCSE PE (Cambridge 0413)
• Previous experience in an International School environment
• Experience of teaching  learners who have English as an Additional Language.
