The successful applicant will:

 

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

A 12 month full time contract for a Senior Physics & Junior Science teacher exists for 2019 with a possibility of continuing. The ability to teach these subjects is essential as is a demonstrated knowledge of Queensland Curriculum initiatives and the new senior system of assessment. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to the education of young women, have proven organisational abilities and effective communication skills.

St John Fisher College is a Catholic secondary college offering a contemporary education for young women. Administered by Brisbane Catholic Education the College has an enrolment of 528 students in 2018. With an emphasis on inquiry based learning, the College offers an academically challenging curriculum and a diverse range of pathways, particularly in the senior years. With a holistic approach to education, it is a vibrant community where students are strongly encouraged to become fully involved in College life and therefore offers a wide range of co-curricular activities, all complemented by a strong pastoral care program. The College is situated on 15 hectares of land with multiple sporting ovals and modern facilities.

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
