We are seeking to appoint a Physics Teacher. The post is full time and permanent commencing September 2021. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach KS3 to KS5.
The Latymer School is a high achieving, but caring grammar school in North London. Visitors comment on the warm atmosphere and the level of participation in extra-curricular activities. Pupils at the school recently described the school as one “family” and it being a “real community”. We are very proud of our school and believe it is a place where you can really teach and develop.
The Science Department is well organised and resourced and provides a supportive working atmosphere for staff. All lessons were taught in modern laboratories pre-COVID and this will resume once it is no longer necessary to isolate different year groups.
All sciences are popular options at A level. Physics results are very high, the most recent externally graded (pre-COVID) results in 2019 being 92.7% of students achieving grades 7-9 at GCSE (with 53.9% achieving grade 9 and 78% Level 8/9), and at A level 82.1% A*-B (with 28.4% achieving an A*, 56.7% A*/A and 92.5% A*-C). The AQA Triple Science course is followed at GCSE and classes are taught by subject specialists from Year 9. The AQA AS/A2 course is followed at KS5.
If you would like to work with a supportive team in a friendly environment, with guaranteed A level teaching, then we would like to hear from you.
Further details are available on the school website.
Closing date for application: 10am on Monday, 14th June 2021
