We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified, motivated and innovative teacher of Physics who will inspire our young people. The post would be suitable for a newly qualified or experienced teacher with a good qualifications and a degree in Physics (or a related field). The successful candidate should set high standards of teaching and learning and have strong skills in differentiating lessons for different abilities. The Science Faculty is a highly collaborative department and would welcome an applicant with strong interpersonal and communications skills. 

The Science Faculty currently offers a wide range of opportunities at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. We run both separate and combined science options at GCSE with over 50% of students succeeding in the separate sciences. Our results at GCSE level are significantly and consistently above the national average. At KS5 we run a successful Physics course with results in the top 25% of the country. We have also introduced an Applied Science course at KS5 with opportunities for teaching a more vocational style of Physics. 

At Key Stage 5 the Physics department runs a highly subscribed trip to the world famous Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva which provides valuable experience of cutting edge Physics, Engineering and Computing to all Science students. This is a primary inspiration for many to go onto STEM courses at University. A successful applicant would be involved in the organisation and running of this international experience.

Grey Court is a National Teaching School and provides a tailor made NQT programme to develop all aspects of our NQTS. The majority of NQTs stay with Grey Court after their training and many teachers progress to leading roles within the school or their own departments.

Physics, and Science in general, is a popular and thriving subject at Grey Court School.
