About the School

BSQ is Ecuador's only truly British international school, where the English National Curriculum is taught with strong links to local language and culture. We are proud of our joint British-Ecuadorian roots and have a very strong reputation in the local and international community resulting in growing numbers and opportunities for expansion. Our Early Years Curriculum is based on UK best practice and incorporates continuous play, observational assessment, accessible provision, rich language development and lots of fun.
British School Quito is a foundation, with the sole purpose of providing education. We are an IB World School, accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools. We are licensed and accredited by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education. The Early Years, Primary and Secondary sections are all on one campus, which has rich local flora and fauna – hummingbirds are daily visitors to most areas. The school has an ICT lab, science laboratories, art and music facilities, a cafeteria, playgrounds, swimming pool and a sports field. We have a central library with an auditorium area for assemblies and productions and rich opportunities for outside play.

The school forms part of the Orbital Education group, an expanding group of international schools providing a British Education to an internationally diverse student population. In addition to our school in Quito, the Orbital group have schools in other culturally attractive and historically important destinations, such as Spain, Hungary, Russia, Shanghai, Slovenia and the Middle East, with exciting plans to develop schools in new regions across the globe. As part of the Orbital group, our staff have the opportunity to work and collaborate with colleagues around the world, supporting them to achieve excellent outcomes and enabling their students to achieve their potential.
