Millfield wishes to appoint a full-time or part time Teacher of Physics from January 2023 to provide maternity cover from January 2023 until the end of the academic year. We are looking for an organised and dynamic teacher with a passion for the subject and a desire to teach a range of ages and abilities. Candidates must be able to teach two of the three sciences to GCSE, including physics to GCSE, with A Level Physics being advantageous.

The Science Department at Millfield is a very rewarding place to work. It is a large but close-knit team of talented and hard-working individuals with excellent laboratories and resources. Set sizes are small compared to other schools, typically falling in the range from 8 to 14. This has obvious advantages, especially the chance to really get to know and understand every student you teach.

Founded in 1935, Millfield’s vision is to be the world leader for the development of children. There are nearly 1,300 students at the senior school (year 9 to U6), with a 3:1 ratio of boarding to day. Although essentially a rural British school, 20 per cent of Millfield students are international and come from more than 70 countries.
