This is a fantastic opportunity for you to utilise your current skills and knowledge of the industry, in a way that supports our lecturing staff with the delivery of practical skills to our students.  

We are currently looking for an individual with a background in Plumbing to join our team of Technicians and provide technical assistance in the workshop and classrooms whilst classes are in session.  

It is desirable that interested applicants hold a Level 2 Plumbing qualification, proven experience in a relevant occupational setting and the ability to repair and maintain equipment and machinery.  If you are able to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the role, we will support you to gain any necessary qualifications in order for you to embark on your new career in the further education sector.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced check.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
