Oaklands School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced person who has knowledge of building maintenance and management, to manage the school premises and ensure a safe learning environment for the school community.

The successful candidate will possess good project management skills and managerial skills besides practical knowledge on building maintenance. The ideal candidate will be self-motivating and flexible, contributing to the development of the school’s ethos and culture. Applicants will ideally have previous experience of Premises Management at either a public or private sector establishment.

Reporting to the School Business Manager the key responsibilities of this role include: 

  • To oversee efficiency and effective use of the      School site, accommodation, buildings and grounds
  • To establish and manage a proactive      Health and Safety culture throughout the school
  • To manage all support staff within the      facilities portfolio including rotas and training

The ideal experience required for this role includes: 

  • Knowledge of facilities and premises      management
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety legislation
  • Experience of successful project management

Oaklands is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in East London. It is a community state school as well as a NSS (National Support School] that provides support to other schools. A smaller than average secondary school, it will provide 850 places for secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 11-18, when fully subscribed.

With over 20 years’ worth of educational success, Oaklands has been a specialist school for science since 2003 and became a specialist modern foreign language school in 2008.
