Job overview

Set at the top of Perth’s North Inch and overlooking the River Tay, St John's RC Academy is at the heart of the North Inch Community Campus.  The 2-18 all-through school provides education for over one thousand children and young people from nursery to S6.  The campus is a hub of opportunities for the local community, utilising state of art sports and cultural facilities, offering a wide range of services for all ages.

St John’s RC Academy’s success is built on respectful relationships, strong partnership working, a culture of self-evaluation for improvement and effective leadership at all levels.  The school offers a wide range of excellent learning experiences for children and young people and achievement is significantly improving across the school year-on-year.
As a Catholic school, the school’s vision and values are rooted in the Gospel.  St John’s RC Academy is also a Fairtrade School and the first all-through school in the UK to achieve UNICEF’s Rights Respecting Schools Level 2 Award.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled classroom practitioner who will help us to ensure the continued development and progress of the pupils and the school.
Please note, if successful, you will be required to attain the necessary paperwork from www.sces.uk.com to obtain approval from the Catholic Church Authorities.
Please note, should you be invited to attend interview, you will be asked to provide 2 references.  Therefore, when completing your application for this post, please ensure you provide contact details for two referees.  One should be your current or most recent employer.  If you are already employed as a teacher with Perth & Kinross Council, you are only required to provide 1 reference, which must be from your current head teacher.
As Perth & Kinross Council operates an open reference policy, the onus will be on you to provide us with your references.  You should print off the job profile and reference form and give them to your referees for completion.  (An alternative is to save it and e-mail it to your referees).  It is also important to include the reference number of the post on the proforma.  The references should then be presented to the chair of the interview panel when you attend.
Please APPLY ONLINE.  Facilities are available at all public libraries in Perth and Kinross.  If you have a disability and require reasonable adjustments, please call 01738 475000 to discuss.
