As a result of increasing enrolment, Le Régent international School is looking for a Primary/Elementary teacher for class 2 or 3 (UK years 3 and 4) for its Junior section. The post will be 80% but may become full time in the course of the year.
Founded in 2015, Le Régent is a rapidly developing Swiss boarding and day school with an international academic programme. Well over 200 students from Switzerland and around the world are educated in a modern campus in the heart of the Valais Alps in the attractive and lively ski resort of Crans-Montana. Le Régent has been under the guidance of Institut Le Rosey (www.rosey.ch) since August 2019.
Le Régent follows a rigorous academic programme in English in preparation for IGCSEs and later the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, while nurturing the individual talents of each student with its diverse extracurricular offering, including sports, arts, music and mountain activities.
In the Junior school, which has its own building, the curriculum incorporates elements of the UK national curriculum combining this with the IPC. Class sizes are small and the international student and teaching body ensures an interesting and stimulating classroom and school atmosphere. The school’s exceptional location and outdoor education programme and the chance to ski during the winter season are important attractions for both students and staff.
The Junior School hosts students from Class 1-6 (UK years 2-7) during the day and boarding students up to 13 years old. Although the majority of students in the Junior School are day students, the boarding life is vibrant and many local children take the opportunity to experience boarding on a flexi model.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Primary/Elementary School Teacher to join our team from September 2022. Although non-resident, the successful candidate will have the positive outlook required to be part of a boarding community and provide a positive presence in the Junior school. In particular, the candidate will have the drive to foster a love of learning and bring an infectious enthusiasm to the classroom.
Although the current post will be for Class 2 or 3 we would welcome applications from candidates able to teach different age groups or with a specialism in a particular curriculum area.
