ROLE PURPOSE:

To promote, deliver and support health and well being throughout the school and to develop and implement proactive programs to promote wellbeing and resilience amongst the students, staff and parents

KEY ROLE SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

Description of the Accountability Performance Indicators (How accountability is measured)

 Lead the development of high quality support service for the school that enhances the mental health and wellbeing of all students

 High levels of student satisfaction with the services provided by the Student Wellbeing team (as per the benchmark level of students’ satisfaction)

 Provide guidance and support to individuals in cases of bereavement and loss, transition, eating disorders, self-harm, depression, anger management, erratic behaviour, abuse, anxiety and fear

 No. of Peer tutoring sessions for a student

 No. of Session with feedback as “satisfactory or above”

 Perform duties within codes of practise and ethics recommended by BABCP, UKCP or equivalent organisation

 No. of incidences of non-compliances with the guidelines (Health and safety) 

 Legal compliance e.g. Freedom of Information, Data Protection

 Promote an environment of positive education, care and support where such concerns can be identified and corrected

 No. of concerns identified/raised and corrected

 Provide support and training to the parents regarding issues of stress, anxiety, psycho-education, mental health difficulties ensuring confidentiality of the matter  No. of meetings with the parents to address and issue

 Parent feedback for the meeting as satisfactory or above

 Play an active role in safeguarding students in consultation with designated safeguarding lead and external agencies

 Satisfactory quality feedback reports

 Collaborate with SLTs, staff and students to ensure effective support operations and network with personnel /agencies to access specialist consultant

 Satisfactory performance management reports including appraisal

 Maintain suitable records on support offered in a secure place

 Monitor all aspects of the delivery of support and recommend changes where appropriate

 Review operational policies for the support services

 Timely annual report that reflects current trends to the SLT

 Full and continued compliance with the BABCP registration and accreditation schemes

 Satisfactory quality audit reports

PERSON SPECIFIC: 

Education: Masters in students counselling / Counselling diploma 

Minimum Experience and Knowledge: Minimum 2 years of proven working experience in school counselling
